News > Kurt Ahrens Brabham BT16 Surfaces
A 1965 Brabham BT16 is nearing the end of a meticulous re-build in North Wales, its owner who was a mechanic in the 'screamer' period has had the car for around six years. The car ran initially in Formula two, but after mechanical problems in its first two outings, was converted to one litre F3 specification.
It enjoyed several podium finishes in Arhens' hands in 1965 before passing on to Manfred Mohr in 1966 and 67, thereafter its history is obscure, but it appears that it ended its days with a BMW motor on the hills in Europe. We hope to be able to provide pictures in due course.
